BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic will pay a two-day official visit to China September 9-11, and participate in the World Economic Forum in Tianjin, the government's media relations office said in a release.

AGERPRES special correspondent Daniel Florea reports: Premier Victor Ponta said on Tuesday that the Governments of Romania and China are looking into plans to build a high-speed rail on the route Bucharest-Iasi-Chisinau which is an alternative to a previously considered project envisaging the Bucharest-Constanta route.

Prime Minister Victor Ponta has arrived on Sunday in Beijing, heading a delegation that also includes Ministers Liviu Dragnea, Daniel Constantin, Ioan Rus and Constantin Nita into a three-day visit to China, following an invitation of the Chinese Premier Li Keqiang.

Ponta is also accompanied by his wife, Social Democrat Member of the European Parliament Daciana Sarbu.

French companies have struck agreements worth EUR 18 B with China during its president's official visit to Paris.

A total of 50 deals were signed according to France's President Francois Hollande, who made the announcement after meeting his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping at the Elysee Palace, France24's website has reported.
