Jankovic ousted from Tianjin WTA tournament

TIANJIN - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic failed to qualify for the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in Tianjin, after losing to China's Zheng Saisai 6-3, 6-3 in the second round on Thursday.

Jankovic continued her unpredictable trend this season. Although seeded first, she failed to capitalize on the role of the favorite against the 20-year-old Chinese, currently world number 112.

Jankovic advances to second round in Tianjin

TIANJIN - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic is through to the second round at the WTA tournament in Tianjin, after defeating Russia's Alla Kudrjavceva 6-2 0-6, 6-0 in the first round on Tuesday.

Top seed Jankovic will next face Zheng Saisai of China, who beat Hungary's Timea Babos 7-5, 6-4.

The prize money for the Tianjin open is USD 250,000.

Vucic attends reception hosted by Li Keqiang

TIANJIN - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic attended the opening of the World Economic Forum, or 'Summer Davos", in Tianjin, the Serbian government's press service released on Wednesday.

After the opening, Vucic attended a dinner for senior officials and guests of the conference, hosted by Prime Minister of the People's Republic of China Li Keqiang, the release states.

Vucic, Li agree to hold summit in Belgrade

TIANJIN - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic has reached an agreement with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang on the holding of a summit of the 16 leaders of Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in Belgrade, and his coming to Belgrade in December so that they open the Zemun-Borca Bridge together.

This will be the first visit by a Chinese prime minister after almost 30 years.

Vucic meets with Chinese businessmen in Tianjin

BEIJING - A Serbian delegation led by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic met Tuesday in Tianjin with the representatives of several major Chinese companies and discussed investment possibilities in Serbia.

The talks also touched on the construction of Budapest-Belgrade railway, which should be the subject of an agreement between prime ministers Vucic and Li Keqiang on Wednesday.
