Paraglider dies after crash near Thessaloniki
A 40-year-old man who was paragliding near Thessaloniki has died after crashing into a hill in an inaccessible area.
The incident occurred near the village of Vasilika, about 30 kilometers southeast of Thessaloniki.
Fifteen firefighters and members of the mountain search and rescue team found the body but attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful.

A 4.5 magnitude earthquake occurred on Monday in northern Evia.
According to the automated solution, the earthquake’s epicenter was located 7 km southeast of the village of Vasilika in Istiaia, with a focal depth of 5 km.
The tremor was strongly felt in northern Evia, even reaching as far as Athens.

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck the island of Evia at 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
The earthquake was felt in Athens.
The epicenter of the quake was located 4 km northwest of the town of Vasilika.
Few minutes earlier, at 8.56 p.m. a 3.9 magnitude earthquake occurred 5 km northwest from the town of Vasilika.
