Australia beat Serbia in Fed Cup clash
ZRENJANIN - The Serbia women's national tennis team has failed to qualify for the Fed Cup World Group II after losing 4-0 to Australia in the play-offs at the weekend.
Daria Gavrilova beat Nina Stojanovic 6-0, 6-3 at Zrenjanin's Crystal Hall on Sunday to win the decisive third point for Australia.

Krunic, Barty to open Serbia vs Australia Fed Cup clash
ZRENJANIN - Aleksandra Krunic and Ashleigh Barty were on Friday drawn to open the Fed Cup World Group II play-offs clash between Serbia and Australia in Zrenjanin on Saturday, with Ivana Jorovic and Daria Gavrilova to take the court afterwards.
Polling stations open on 8 locations for repeat voting
Eight polling stations opened on Tuesday morning in Kraljevo, Vrsac, Vrbas, Topola, Zrenjanin, Backa Palanka, and Belgrade's Zvezdara municipality.
A total of 9,851 voters are eligible to vote in the repeat elections on Tuesday.

Man kills common law wife with baseball bat, commits suicide
A tragedy has occurred in Lukicevo, near the town of Zrenjanin, northern Serbia, state television RTS is reporting.
The broadcaster added that "it is supposed" that a man had murdered his wife before taking his own life.
Festival of new British film Film and Chips starts Friday
BELGRADE - The first Film and Chips Festival, which focuses on new British film, will be held simultaneously in 10 cities in Serbia January 16-18, 2015, with identical programs.
The Festival is held in cooperation with the British Council, and according to a statement by Belgrade's Dom omladine, it will premiere some of the most recent work by young British authors.
NIS supports return of young experts to Serbia
BELGRADE - Naftna industrija Srbije (NIS) CEO Kirill Kravchenko and Serbian Minister of Youth and Sport Vanja Udovicic inked a memorandum of cooperation between this oil company and the ministry on Tuesday with the aim to help young experts who want to return to Serbia and find a job.

Short story festival in Kikinda on July 2-5
BELGRADE - The short story festival Kikinda Short 09 will take place in five cities and three countries from July 2 to 5, and gather 20 authors from 14 countries who will read their stories to the audiences in Kikinda, Szeged, Timisoara, Zrenjanin and Belgrade, announced the festival organizer, Kikinda Short association.
