Türkiye grows seven tropical fruits, eyes four other
Türkiye has started growing seven tropical fruits brought from the United States, officials have said, adding that the adaptation process of some four other fruits is ongoing.
Tropical fruit cultivation, which started with materials brought from abroad for hobby gardens in the early 2000s in Türkiye, has started to increase with the contribution of local saplings.
Hotels in Edirne full for lavender fest
Photography aficionados have thronged the northwestern province of Edirne to attend the "Lavender Fields Day," a festival to be held between June 16 and 19, with the occupancy rate of the city hotels hitting 100 percent, the local tourism professionals have said.

‘Edirne rose’ brought from Bulgaria, planted in border city
Officials in the northwestern province of Edirne have planted saplings of "Edirne rose," a local rose species that got lost over time, that they brought from a Bulgarian village in its own habitat, reviving the species once again.
"Edirne rose has reunited with the lands it once was born in," said Recep Gürkan, the mayor of the province, during a ceremony on Nov. 25.
Bee with superior attributes registered
Turkey registered a honey bee species after a decade-long rehabilitation effort to boost pine honey production.
Chief breeding officer at the Aegean Agricultural Research Institute Üzeyir Karaca told Anadolu Agency on Feb. 28 the breeding began in 2008 to add superior attributes to honey making.
