Turkey's top defense company Aselsan has been placed 48th in Defense News Top 100 list for 2020 with $2.2 billion in revenues.

The prestigious American magazine compiles the list in accordance with companies' annual defense revenues.

Aselsan increased its defense revenues by 2 percent year-on-year in 2020, according to Defense News.

Turkey's HİSAR A+ air defense missile system has been delivered with all elements and the HİSAR O+ system has reached the stage of mass production, a top official announced on July 10.

İsmail Demir, head of Turkey's Defense Industries Authority, gave an update on the country's first indigenous air defense system on Twitter.

The first export of the Turkish armored vehicle Vuran, manufactured in collaboration with leading Turkish defense firms, was made to Kosovo.

According to information obtained by Anadolu Agency, Kosovo will be the first overseas user of the Vuran 4x4 multi-purpose armored vehicle.

At the first stage, two units of the vehicle will be produced and delivered to Kosovo.


Turkey will be among the 10 countries of the world producing communication satellites when it launches the Türksat 6A satellite into space next year, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said on June 28.

Turkey's largest defense company Aselsan signed an export agreement worth €42.59 million ($50.7 million), according to a statement on June 22.

The agreement was signed with an international client, the defense firm said through the country's Public Disclosure Platform.

"Under the contract, the deliveries will be made in 2023-2024," it noted.

Turkish defense giant Aselsan has struck a $35.5 million avionics systems export deal, according to a statement issued to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) on May 20.

The statement did not identify the foreign company involved in the agreement.

Deliveries as part of the deal will be made next year, and in 2023, it said.

Turkish defense giant ASELSAN on May 18 said the flight tests of the micro unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Saka were successfully carried out.

ASELSAN Project Manager Yusuf Ziya Kotil told Anadolu Agency the company is working on unmanned air, land and sea systems.

Canada's cancellation of drone technology export permits to Turkey will not harm major Turkish aviation firm Baykar, its chief technology officer said on April 14.

Turkey's largest defense fair, organized by the Istanbul Defence and Aerospace Cluster Association, SAHA, has drawn greater attention from both domestic and foreign investors.
