The director of Siemens Turkey's high speed trains department has said the company plans to bid in a tender expected to be opened by the Transport Ministry to buy a total of 80 high speed trains in mid-2016. 

"We want to bid and we are evaluating the process now," said Siemens' Cüneyt Genç in an interview with Reuters. 

The head of Canadian train maker Bombardier said on Dec. 23 that his company would invest in Turkey's high-speed rail network construction.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency in Berlin, Bombardier head Laurent Troger said Turkey was one of the world's most important railway markets as it connects Europe and the Middle East.

Aegean Airlines management announced its 2016 route network during a Press Conference in Athens attended by Elena Kountoura, Minister of Tourism, as well as, Greek tourism industry representatives. The new network marks the third year of continued strong growth by Aegean and the increasing contribution to the Greek economy and tourism sector.

Canadian aerospace and rail equipment giant Bombardier plans to build planes in Russia and the sale of USD 3.4B of aircraft will be delayed over events in Crimea.

Canada has joined the US in imposing sanctions against the country after it moved to annex Crimea, Chief Executive Officer Pierre Beaudoin said.
