Civil Aviation extends flight restrictions through Aug. 31

A new notice to airmen issued by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) on Wednesday extends travel bans with Balkan and European countries through August 31, to protect passengers and residents of Greece from a rise in new coronavirus cases.

According to the notice:

- Flights between Greece and Turkey remain suspended to August 31 (midnight).

Greece extends flight ban for six countries until May 15

The Civil Aviation Authority announced on Wednesday that it would extend a ban on commercial flights to and from six countries until May 15 as part of the measures to halt the spread of the coronavirus in Greece.

According to the notice to airmen (NOTAMS) issued by the authority, the ban concerns Italy, Spain, Turkey, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany.

Aegean Airlines suspends international flights until April 30

Greek carrier Aegean Airlines announced Monday they were suspending all international flights as of March 26 and until April 30, citing the "extraordinary circumstances" created by the coronavirus outbreak and the travel restrictions imposed by the government, the EU and other states.
