Tsvetan Vasilev Responds to BNB Governor, Threatens to Sue
The Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) majority shareholder Tsvetan Vasilev responded to the claims of BNB Governor Ivan Iskrov in an open letter, published by the BGNES wire agency.
“In the past few months I was subjected to a massive, purposeful and extremely manipulative campaign, which spread over everything, connected with my name,” the letter reads.
KTB Operations Halted, but Bank Not Failed - BNB
The Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) did not fail, because the central bank intervened quickly and decisively, BNB Governor Ivan Iskrov explained.
Bulgarian National Bank (BNB)'s Governing Council held a press conference just an hour after the central bank announced it had placed KTB under special supervision upon the commercial bank's request.

Corporate Commercial Bank Becomes Third Largest Owner of Bulgartabac
The Corporate Commercial Bank (KTB) is the third largest stake holder in Bulgaria's largest tobacco company, Bulgartabac Holding.
According to the report of the Capital Daily business daily, it has purchased 3.22% of Bulgartabac's stakes and the total ownership of the bank became 6.02%.
