Janša’s appearance at EU Parliament subcommittee overshadowed by row

Brussels – Prime Minister Janez Janša’s appearance in front of the European Parliament’s democracy monitoring group was overshadowed by a row with chair Sophie in ‘t Veld over a video alleging journalists are biased. After In ‘t Veld refused to play the video during the time allotted for his statement, Janša disconnected from the videoconference.

8:50 p.m. - The Kurdish issue-focused Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) issued a statement on Twitter, saying they would oppose two thirds of the polls whether the results are "yes" or "no." According to data gathered by them there was 3 to 4 percent manipulation, the party said in its statement.  

HDP says co-chair Demirta? escapes assassination attempt

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) co-chair Selahattin Demirta? was targeted by an assassination attempt while travelling in his official vehicle but escaped unharmed, the HDP said Nov. 23.
  
Demirta? was in an armored vehicle in the southeastern province of Diyarbak?r late on Nov. 22 when it was hit by a single bullet at head height, the party said in a statement.
  

Former HDP candidate claims he was tortured while detained following Ankara bombing

A Kurdish problem-oriented Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) deputy candidate for the June 7 elections has claimed he was tortured while under detention for allegedly sharing posts on Twitter which gave information in advance about the Ankara bombing on Oct. 10, daily Cumhuriyet reported on its website on Oct. 18.
