We are following the deal between CEZ and Eurohold, Chairman of the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (KEVR) Assoc. Prof. Ivan Ivanov told reporters, Focus News Agency reported.

The Bulgarian Eurohold business group will take over CEZ Group's entire assets in Bulgaria, the two companies announced on Thursday.

The largest publicly listed Bulgarian holding company will pay 335 million euros for the Bulgarian assets of the Czech utility operator.

Bulgarian holding company Eurohold has signed a deal to buy the Bulgarian assets of Czech utility CEZ for 335 million euros ($377.9 million), it said on Thursday. 

Eurohold, active in insurance and asset management, entered exclusive talks in April to acquire CEZ's assets in the Balkan country including a power distributor that provides electricity to more than 3 million Bulgarians.

Bulgaria's regulator said on Wednesday it was examining Eurohold to establish its financial situation given its bid to acquire the Bulgarian assets of Czech utility CEZ, reported Reuters. 

The withdrawal of the Czech energy company CEZ from the Bulgarian market went into a new phase. According to sources in the Czech Lidovky Noviny newspaper, close to the management of the company, the company has decided to suspend the negotiations for the purchase of its assets with India Indian Power and stay with the Bulgarian financial group Eurohold.

The Bulgarian insurer Eurohold has had talks with the Czech energy group CEZ in which it has shown interest in its Bulgarian assets, but there is still no decision on whether to participate in the procedure for the purchase of the electricity distribution network in Western Bulgaria, the electricity supplier, the trader, the telecommunication company and two solar projects.

Euroins Insurance Group has concluded an agreement to acquire four insurance companies in three European countries - Romania, the Czech Republic and Belarus, the company said. The companies are subsidiaries of the German ERGO - one of the leading insurance groups in Europe and part of Munich Re, which is one of the world's largest reinsurance companies, reports money.bg
