Greece to seek ESM consent for early repayment of IMF loans this week
Greece plans to file a request this week seeking the eurozone bailout fund's consent to the early repayment of expensive loans owed to the International Monetary Fund, a source close to the process told Reuters Monday.
ESM confirms release of tranche to Greece in principle
The European Stability Mechanism's board of directors on Friday approved, in principle, the release of the final bailout tranche to Greece, worth 15 billion euros.
In a statement released on Friday, the ESM's board said that the sum would be disbursed to Greece "subject to the completion of national procedure."
Tranche will have strings attached
The European Stability Mechanism is tying up Greece's cash buffer with safety clauses, to ensure that those funds are only used for the purpose they are intended for - and not handouts.
This stems from the ESM proposal on the terms of the final 15-billion-euro tranche to Greece as tabled in the German parliament along with the rest of the Eurogroup agreement's texts.

Bond yields fall as euro zone bailout fund approves new loans
Short-dated Greek government bond yields fell on Tuesday after the euro zone bailout fund approved new loans for the indebted country.
