Saraç becomes first female president of Istanbul Bar Association
Lawyer Filiz Saraç has been elected as the new president of the Istanbul Bar Association, becoming the first woman to preside over the association in its 144-year history.

Mehmet Durakoğlu elected head of Istanbul Bar Association
Mehmet Durakoğlu, a candidate from the Principle Contemporary Lawyers Group (Önce İlke Çağdaş Avukatlar Grubu), was elected as the new head of the Istanbul Bar Association in late Oct. 23 after receiving more than 50 percent of the votes, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
Durakoğlu received 54.42 percent of the votes, sweeping to victory against the four other candidates.
