ATHEX: Traders at local bourse reap profits
The main index at the Greek bourse slid back below the 1,200-point level it had captured this week, as on Wednesday it gave up some of the ground earned during Monday's huge rise.
Banks were at the center of the market's profit-taking, though many mid-caps resisted the pressure and their index fared better than the rest of the market, losing only 0.66%.

ATHEX: Bourse ends week before polls higher
The Greek stock market ended the last week before the general election with gains, which made it the third consecutive week of growth for the benchmark at Athinon Avenue. The market appears calm ahead of the polls, in contrast with what is happening on the other side of the Aegean, while turnover in Athens increased on Friday thanks to maturing of the month's derivatives.

Mytilineos nears green energy deal in North America
Mytilineos is close to reaching an agreement on green energy in North America, Evangelos Mytilineos, chairman and CEO of Mytilineos Energy & Metals, told Bloomberg TV on Tuesday.
In an interview, Mytilineos said that the framework in North America is very attractive and noted that in Europe the system is more bureaucratic and things move more slowly.

Greek stocks closed their second consecutive week of growth on Friday, approaching the year's highs, though the session offered negligible gains to the main index and the rising stocks outnumbered the losers by the smallest of margins.

Mytilineos’ record Q1 data
Mytilineos on Thursday reported its best ever performance in a first quarter, with net profit after minorities soaring 113% to 143 million euros, earnings per share jumping 109% to €1.04 and EBITDA rising 72% to €225 million, while turnover rose 30% to €1.358 billion. Net debt, on an adjusted basis, stood at €948 million.

ATHEX: Index edges ever closer to 1,100 points
For the third day in a row the benchmark of the Greek stock market posted minor gains on Thursday, with blue chips growing and mid-caps shrinking, and the majority of stocks ending up on the losing side. The main index is again creeping up toward 1,100 points, while the daily trading volumes seen this week lag those of previous months.

The banking sector shook off foreign and domestic concerns - related to the decline of US lender First Republic and the promise by main opposition leader Alexis Tsipras to nationalize National Bank of Greece if he comes to power - and swung to gains at the end of Wednesday's bourse session, leaving the benchmark with moderate gains.
