Main leftist opposition leader Stefanos Kasselakis has ruled out any alliance with the SYRIZA splinter group New Left.
"As long as I am president of SYRIZA, there will be no collaboration with the illegitimate New Left group," he said in a post on the X social media platform on Tuesday.
New Left call for censure motion over unis rebuffed
Main opposition parties SYRIZA and PASOK, along with communist KKE, rejected the idea of filing a motion of no confidence against the government over the education bill to institutionalize non-state universities, as proposed by New Left leader Alexis Haritsis.
New Left is getting organized
New Left, the party created out of a split in the main opposition SYRIZA party, will hold an organizing meeting on January 12-13.
The meeting, to be held in Athens, will draw up a founding declaration and prepare a conference, to be held in late February, where the party's governing bodies will presumably be elected.
