It was around 2014, at one of the last receptions of Abdullah Gül toward the end of his presidential term at the Çankaya Palace in Ankara, when it was still Turkey's presidential palace. A group of reporters had surrounded a minister or top bureaucrat to take their chances to find a bit of information.

This looks very familiar to me. These are signs of instrumentalization in the fight against the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), particularly in the "FETÖ operation against the Doğan Group."

It was in the papers yesterday on July 22 that the suicide bomber of Suruç was from the southeastern city Ad?yaman, that he was tipped off to the police by his father for joining the Islamic State of Iraq and Levent (ISIL), that he was wanted by police as a terror-related suspect and that he had met the HDP rally bomber of Diyarbak?r at a tea shop in Ad?yaman.
