The main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) spokesperson Selin Sayek Böke recently drew attention to the rapid devaluation of the Turkish Lira, suggesting that it weakened Turkey's economy and left it unprotected against global developments. According to Böke, companies will lose out and bankruptcies will rise for as long as foreign exchange rates increase. 

The director of Siemens Turkey's high speed trains department has said the company plans to bid in a tender expected to be opened by the Transport Ministry to buy a total of 80 high speed trains in mid-2016. 

"We want to bid and we are evaluating the process now," said Siemens' Cüneyt Genç in an interview with Reuters. 

Siemens Turkey has launched an innovation competition for young people to encourage innovative ideas with the motto "some inventions change the world," the company said by a press release on March 11.
