Chaos in Istanbul; all flights suspended
"The flight suspension has been extended until 10:00 GMT (11:00 a.m. CET) on January 25 due to unfavorable weather conditions," the airport in Istanbul said on its website, Reuters reports.
Turkish authorities today declared administrative leave for all employees in public institutions in order to reduce mobility.

Turkey halts flights to northern Iraq, issues travel warning
Turkey has issued a new travel warning to Turkish nationals after Turkey's consulate in Arbil announced that Turkish airline companies will halt flying to northern Iraq after 6:00 p.m. on Friday Sept. 29 until further notice at the request of Baghdad, following a referendum for independence held by the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG).
Bear cub sent to Turkey's Bursa by air
A bear cub which was found by locals in the eastern province of Bitlis' Tatvan district and taken under protection at Van Yüzüncu Yıl University's (YYU) Animal Protection and Rehabilitation Center has been sent to the Karacabey Ovakorusu Bear Shelter and Rehabilitation Center in the northwestern province of Bursa.

Steward treated for malaria in Turkey's west, days after stewardess dies of same disease
Only a few days after a flight attendant died of malaria in Istanbul, a fellow cabin attendant is being treated for the same disease in the western province of Afyonkarahisar. It is suspected that both caught the virus during a flight to Nigeria.
