BELGRADE -- The leader of the opposition Democrats (DS), Bojan Pajtic, has told B92 that his party will soon form a shadow cabinet.
Patic, who also serves as head of the provincial government of Vojvodina, believes that "fear rules Serbia," and that it was his party's duty "to free Serbia from it."

MAJDANPEK -- The Serb Progressive Party (SNS) has won convincingly in early local elections held on Sunday in the town of Majdanpek in eastern Serbia.
The SNS has received 47 percent of the vote and will have 17 out of 31 councilor seats in the municipal assembly.

Sasa Vukasinovic, a deputy for the Progressive Party in the local assembly of Sabac, in western Serbia, has embarrassed the ruling party by saying he had now left after it failed to offer his son a job.
Vukasinovic, who was formerly a member of another political party, the United Regions of Serbia, URS, switched to the Progressives after the party took power in 2012.
