BELGRADE - Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has announced that he has evidence that US-led coalition forces are giving support to terrorist groups including Islamic State.

President Erdogan also accused the US-led coalition forces of supporting Kurdish militant groups YPG and PYD in Syria, at a news conference on Tuesday in Ankara.

The Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) have renamed the Menagh air base in northern Syria after the imprisoned leader of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) Abdullah Öcalan, British newspaper The Times reported on Feb. 18. 

Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu finally put to rest speculation about a possible invasion of Syria by Turkey. It was his remarks which fueled this debate in the first place. 

He said last week that if things were based on a result-oriented strategy, then Turkey could mount a land operation against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) together with Saudi Arabia.
