World’s refugees rush to Turkey on way to EU

Visa policies are causing Turkey to become a way station for refugees from around the world hoping to cross into Europe, a parliamentary report says Turkey has increasingly become a bridge for human trafficking, as citizens of developing countries exploit its visa exemption policies to use its territory as a stepping stone to reach Europe, according to a parliamentary report.

Turkey beats Dominican Republic, set to face Australia in last 16

Turkey took second in Group C at the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup after a 77-64 win over third placed Dominican Republic with Oğuz Savaş leading the way with 15 points. 

The Turkish national team will face Australia in the last 16, who were beaten by Angola 91-83 but gave a rest to two of their top players, Joe Ingles and Aron Baynes.        

Turkey spills sweat and blood to defeat New Zealand in FIBA Basketball World Cup

Turkish national basketball team started the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in fussy style after beating New Zealand 76-73 in Group C game in the Spanish city of Bilbao on Aug. 30.
     
The “Tall Blacks” were the dominating side in the first half of the game, which saw the Oceanian side grasping a double-digit lead at the end of the second quarter: 38-28.
