France plans to stop oil and gas production by 2040, and the authorities in the country will stop issuing new permits from next year. This includes a draft law presented at a cabinet meeting yesterday, Bloomberg reports.

Two New Satellites in the Orbit
The European Vega missile was successfully brought into the orbit observation satellite Opps-3000 for the needs of the Italian Ministry of Defense, reports BNT.
The rocket launched on Tuesday from the Kuru spaceport in French Guiana. Besides the Italian apparatus, Vega should also bring Venus to a joint research project between Israel and France.

Hellas Sat 3 launched into orbit
The Greek and Cypriot telecommunications satellite Hellas Sat 3 was launched into orbit late Wednesday night from French Guiana. Digital Policy Minister Nikos Pappas said that, with the launch, Greece is "turning a page" with regard to its policy to make the most of space and space applications.

New satellite to launch later this year, contribute to Turkey's terror fight
A new Turkish satellite set to launch in December is expected to contribute to the Turkish Armed Forces' (TSK) fight against terror, daily Milliyet reported on Sept. 16.
The satellite, named Göktürk 1, is scheduled to be launched into space on Dec. 5 from French Guiana in South America.
Europe launches prototype 'space plane'
The European Space Agency (ESA) said it had launched on Feb. 11 a prototype craft designed to return to Earth at the end of its mission, a key goal in space strategy.
A Vega rocket lifted off from ESA's base in Kourou, French Guiana at 1340 GMT bearing the novel craft, the Intermediate eXperimental Vehicle (IXV), ESA said in a webcast.
