Turkey passes 65 mln-dose mark in COVID vaccinations

Turkey has administered more than 65 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines since it launched a mass vaccination campaign in January, according to figures released on July 23.

The country is continuing its intensive vaccination campaign to curb the virus's spread, with all people aged 18 and over currently eligible for vaccine shots.

Turkey gives over half a million COVID-19 vaccine shots in 24 hours

Turkey has administered over half a million doses of COVID-19 vaccines in the last 24 hours, according to figures released on July 17. 

The country continues its vaccination campaign, which began this January, to curb the spread of the virus, as all residents 18 and over are eligible for vaccine shots.

Prices for F1 Turkish Grand Prix tickets unveiled

Ticket prices for this fall's Formula One Turkish Grand Prix were revealed on July 12, ranging from about 300 to 3,300 Turkish liras ($35-$382) with a discount for early purchases.

Ticket outlet Biletix said that platinum category tickets- the most expensive group- will cost 3,300 Turkish liras ($382), if purchased before July 31.

Turkey closes borders to 6 countries to guard against new COVID-19 strains

Turkey on June 28 announced that it suspended flights from six countries as part of measures against the COVID-19 pandemic. 

In a circular issued by Turkish Interior Ministry, the country suspended flights from Bangladesh, Brazil, South Africa, India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka as of July 1 and until further notice.

Turkish Grand Prix added to calendar on October 3: Formula One

The Turkish Grand Prix has been added to the Formula One calendar on October 3, replacing the cancelled Singapore Grand Prix, the world championship promoter announced on June 25.

The Turkish GP was first added to the calendar for June 13, replacing Canada, but was cancelled in the face of coronavirus travel restrictions.

Romania updates list of countries in COVID-19 red, yellow, green areas

Romania's National Committee for Emergency Situations (CNSU) updated on Friday its list of countries or areas with high COVID-19 epidemiological risk. "The classification of the countries/areas by the cumulative rate of COVID-19 cases in order to sort the persons arriving in Romania accordingly and subject them to quarantine is hereby approved," reads CNSU Decision 39.
