Tito’s Yugo-Nostalgic Admirers Celebrate Socialist-Era Holiday
People gathered in the Serbian capital Belgrade and the Croatian village of Kumrovec to mark the Socialist-era 'Youth Day', when showpiece events used to be held all across the former Yugoslavia and its leader Josip Broz Tito's birthday was also celebrated.
August 12 Marks International Youth Day
Today is the International Youth Day. It has been marked in Bulgaria since 2007. Its idea is to draw public attention to various youth issues.
The city hosting this year's events in Bulgaria is Varna, 2017 European Youth Capital.

Former Youth and Sport Minister Iacob Ridzi handed down 5-year prison sentence, to be served
Former Minister of Youth and Sport Monica Iacob Ridzi was handed down a final five-year prison sentence by the High Court of Cassation and Justice on Monday, in a case in which she was charged with abuse of position in relation to the organisation of the Youth Day in 2009.

35th anniversary of Josip Broz's death
BELGRADE - Hundreads of people from all over the former Yugoslavia marked the 35th anniversary of the death of former president of the Socialist Federative Republic of Yugoslavia Josip Broz Tito by visiting the House of Flowers in Belgrade on Sunday, where Tito and his wife Jovanka Broz are buried.
