"Regional football league to be launched in 2018"
Macedonian Football League Director Vasko Dojcinovski says UEFA has approved the launch of a regional football league in 2018.
Speaking for Croatian daily Vecernji List, Dojcinovski said the league should consist of 24 clubs from Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia, and Macedonia, and that heads of football associations from these countries all supported this new regional format.
Kosovo Celebrates Historic World Cup Football Debut
Fans gathered in Pristina on Monday evening to watch the Kosovo team kick off its inaugural World Cup qualifying campaign with an important 1-1 away draw in Turku in Finland.
Kosovo's scorer was Valon Berisha, who earned the point with a penalty kick just hours after football's world governing body FIFA cleared him to play for the country.
Bulgaria Defeats Macedonia 2:0 in Football Friendly
The Bulgarian national football team secured a second successive victory in recent friendlies by beating Macedonia on Tuesday.
Dimitar Rangelov (66') and Aleksandar Tonev (87') were the players to score the only two goals in the match played in Skopje.
The 2:0 win is Bulgaria's second success of the past few days after a friendly game against Portugal on Friday.
Bulgaria Drops to 75th Place in FIFA Ranking
The Bulgarian men's national football team dropped three positions in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World ranking released on Thursday.
At present, Bulgaria occupies 75th position with 494 points, being between the teams of South Africa and Zambia.
There is no change to the first eighteen positions in the ranking as only 43 matches have been played since the start of the year.
Govt transfers migrants from stadium to stadium (pics)
Migrants and refugees transfered from Idomeni on the Greek border with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) to Athens are being held at the Tae Kwon Do stadium at Paleo Faliro for the 12th day. Initially there were 2,500 refugees registered there, however their number is not more than 1,000 at the moment. Following initial squabbles, the situation is now calm.
Eurobasket 2015: FYROM shows poor sportsmanship in game with Greece
The Eurobasket 2015 countdown between Greek players and their adversaries from the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) proved a success for Greece but was marred by provocative acts by Skopje. They held flags carrying Greek smbols and yelled out “Macedonia” , lifting up a banner stating “Kick Hell-Ass” during the Greek national anthem.
