NBS FX reserves exceed EUR 11 billion
BELGRADE - The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) foreign exchange (FX) reserves amounted to EUR 11,126.4 million at end-January, covering M1 by 359 percent or more than seven months of imports of goods and services.

Actor Nikola Rakocevic receives Berlinale award
BELGRADE - Young Serbian actor Nikola Rakocevic has received the Shooting Stars Award at the 64th Berlin International Film Festival, the Serbian Film Centre (FCS) stated on Tuesday.
The Shooting Stars initiative is the most important project by European Film Promotion, an international organization that the FCS is part of. The FCS put forth Rakocevic as a candidate for the award.

BELGRADE - The central bank should be very cautious in running the banking sector so as to prevent any decrease of citizens' trust in banks after the Univerzal Banka affair as it is the fourth bank which went bankrupt, economist Stojan Stamenkovic stated on Tuesday.
Headstones desecrated at Subotica Jewish cemetery
SUBOTICA - Several headstones were vandalized at the Jewish cemetery in Subotica on the night of February 10-11.
According to Jewish Community Subotica, nine headstones have been damaged, including two of greater value belonging to prominent citizens.
NBS governor: Banks in Serbia are stable
BELGRADE - National Bank of Serbia (NBS) Governor Jorgovanka Tabakovic said Tuesday that none of the 29 banks in Serbia is facing lack of liquidity, citizens' savings are guaranteed by the state and the forthcoming early parliamentary elections are not among causes of the local currency downfall.
SRS: ICTY subjects Seselj to inhuman treatment
BELGRADE - Nemanja Sarovic, deputy leader of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS), claims that the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) has subjected SRS leader Vojislav Seselj to inhuman treatment, as after the recent surgery, he was put in isolation in the prison hospital.
PDA decides to go to elections
BUJANOVAC - The Party for Democratic Action (PDA), which gathers ethnic Albanians from southern Serbia, has decided to take part in the early parliamentary elections scheduled for March 16.
Chair of the PDA Bujanovac municipal committee Saip Kamberi confirmed for Tanjug that PDA wishes to test its strength in the elections and hopes to win at least one MP seat.
