Nikolic: Keeping Kosovo-Metohija a top UN priority important

BELGRADE - Keeping Kosovo-Metohija a top priority of the UN is very important for maintaining stability and preventing certain situations from escalating into crises, Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic said at a meeting with UN Mission in Kosovo head Zahir Tanin on Thursday.

"We are in talks with Pristina although the EU is fully on their side, but it must be clear to everyone that we will never recognise Kosovo-Metohija's independence. We expect Pristina to show a readiness to respect laws and implement what has been agreed, in particular the Community of Serb Municipalities," Nikolic said.
