Deflation in Serbia totals 0.2 percent
BELGRADE - Serbia recorded a monthly deflation of 0.2 percent in October, while the inter-annual inflation totalled 1.8 percent, shows the data of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia issued on Wednesday.
Consumer prices of products and services recorded an increase by 2.2 percent compared to December 2013.
Viewed according to main product groups, the greatest price drop in October relative to the previous month was recorded with food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.4 percent), furniture and household appliances, housing maintenance and telecommunications (0.4 percent each), and alcoholic drinks and tobacco (0.1 percent).
Price increase was recorded in the areas of recreation and culture (2.5 percent), housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (1 percent each), education (0.8 percent), healthcare (0.6 percent), restaurants and hotels (0.5 percent), clothing and shoes (0.4 percent) and transport (0.1 percent).
The prices of other products and services did not change significantly.
