Deputies' Chamber speaker, other 5 deputies on official visit to India

Chamber of Deputies Speaker Valeriu Zgonea and five MPs of the most important parliamentary groups will pay a six-day official visit to India.

According to an internal memorandum approved by the Standing Bureau of the Chamber of Deputies last week, the official visit to New Delhi takes place from December 6 to 11, at the invitation of President of the Indian Parliament's Lower House, Lok Sabha.

The delegation led by Zgonea includes Deputies' Chamber vice president Marian Neascu, PSD deputy Ana Birchall, leader of UDMR deputies, Mate Andras, vice leader of PNL deputies Mugurel Cozmanciuc, vice leader of PDL deputies Alexandru Nazare, as well as Deputies' Chamber secretary general Cristian Panciu and Mrs. Adelina Palade, director general of the chancellery of Valeriu Zgonea.

The document also reads that "the visit will be a reference point for the revival of bilateral parliamentary dialogue between the two legislative bodies and will focus on topics such as the Romanian-Indian political relations, speeding up and deepening the bilateral parliamentary relations, developing the economic cooperation by identifying common projects in fields such as infrastructure, industry, energy, IT, but also aspects related to international issues."

The schedule of the visit includes talks with the president of the Indian Parliament's lower house, India's Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari and with other dignitaries. Valeriu Zgonea will hold a press conference at the Indian Council for World Affairs think tank, the main topics to be debated regarding the Romanian-Indian relations and the EU-India cooperation.

The Romanian delegation will lay a wreath at the Raj Ghat mausoleum, dedicated to the memory of Mahatma Gandhi.AGERPRES
