Summit will strengthen ties with Serbia and Europe
BELGRADE - China's Prime Minister Li Keqiang has said that the upsoming summit between China and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe will strengthen the ties with Serbia and Europe.
He met with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vucic on Monday, upon landing at Belgrade's Nikola Tesla Airport, and said he was pleased he was meeting Vucic just four months after Vucic's visit to China and thanked the Serbian government for its hospitality.
Li stated he was convinced the summit would strenghten his country's ties with Serbia, the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the rest of Europe.
Vucic remarked that he was certain the summit would not only serve as proof of friendship between Serbia and China, but also open new paths of cooperation and show that politics, economy and friendship could go hand in hand.
Welcome to Serbia and feel free to make yourself at home in Belgrade, Vucic told Li.
Serbia has invested a lot of effort in organising the summit, Vucic pointed out, adding that he believed the guests from China would be pleased.
The 3rd summit between China and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe will be held in Belgrade December 16-17 and it will be accompanied by an economic forum. The Chinese prime minister will afterwards continue his visit to Serbia, which will include opening the Zemun-Borca bridge in Belgrade with Vucic.
