Prime Minister Li meets colleagues in Belgrade

BELGRADE - China's Prime Minister Li Keqiang had in Belgrade on Tuesday a series of meetings with colleagues from countries of Central and Eastern Europe, ahead of the start of the 3rd summit between China and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Li met separately with the prime ministers of Slovenia, Latvia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Romania, Tanjug has learned at the Chinese embassy in Belgrade.

According to the embassy, Li will meet with his colleagues from Central and Eastern Europe on Wednesday as well.

Serbia's Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic also met on Tuesday with the prime ministers and ministers of the countries taking part in the summit.

Li was among the first officials to arrive in Belgrade on Monday, and he stressed upon landing that the summit would strengthen China's relations with Serbia and Europe.

The 3rd summit between China and 16 countries of Central and Eastern Europe will be held in Belgrade December 16-17 and it will be accompanied by an economic forum. The Chinese prime minister will afterwards continue his visit to Serbia, which will include opening the Zemun-Borca bridge in Belgrade with Vucic.
