Six stars for Air Serbia

BELGRADE - The internationally acclaimed website AirlineRatings.com listed Air Serbia among the safest air carriers in the region.

The website gave Air Serbia six out of seven stars in the category of safety, which implies that this airline is one of the safest in the region, Air Serbia said in a statement, noting that it also got five out of seven stars for its offer of products, which is the highest rating in the region.

Air Serbia also upped its status, as this has been the first time that it was considered as "a full-service carrier", and not "a regional career".

Commenting on the company's latest success, Air Serbia CEO Danny Kondic said safety is the first and foremost priority, referring to both passengers and crew.

Safety is a constituent part of all our procedures and processes, integrated in all that we do. We also place emphasis on products and services as the key factors that set us apart from the competition, Kondic said.

AirlineRatings.com is currently assessing the safety of 449 companies which are graded on the scale from one to seven stars.

AirlineRatings.com's rating system takes into account a range of factors related to audits from aviation's governing bodies such as the FAA and ICAO as well as government audits and the airline's fatality record.
