Office for KiM:Agreements do not lead to Kosovo independence
BELGRADE - The agreements between Belgrade and Pristina are aimed at ensuring better everyday living conditions for people in Kosovo-Metohija and normalisation of relations between republic and provincial institutions and they will not lead to independence of Kosovo, the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija released on Wednesday.
In a reaction to the statement of Kosovo Prime Minister Isa Mustafa who said that the normalisation process should end by recognition of Kosovo's independence from Serbia, the Office for KiM released that Mustafa should show greater agility in solving accumulated social and economic problems in KiM.
By constantly repeating the same platitude, Mustafa is needlessly raising tension and complicating the atmosphere that should be constructive in order for the normalisation of the relations between the republic and the province to be conducted in the right direction, the Office for KiM stated in the release filed to Tanjug.
During the Wednesday meeting with EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn, Kosovo Prime Minister Mustafa said that Pristina is working on tangible issues that lead to normalisation of relations with Belgrade and removal of obstacles for European integration, Kosovo media reported.
The agreement on the judiciary recently achieved by Belgrade and Pristina is a part of the process of normalisation of relations which should be finalised by the recognition of Kosovo's independence by Serbia, Mustafa said.
