Bulgarian MPs Adopt Amendments to Defence Act at First Reading
The Bulgarian Parliament approved on Friday the amendments to the Defence and Armed Forces Act at first reading.
The amendments provide opportunities for Bulgarian servicemen and civilians to serve in international organisations operating on Bulgarian territory, Darik radio reports.
All parliamentary parties, except the opposition Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and nationalist Ataka party, voted in favour of the amendments.
The amendments are adopted in order to facilitate the functioning of international bodies, such as the planned NATO command and control centre, which will be stationed in the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
