Coroner rules Giakoumakis’ death a suicide

According to the coroner’s report, the cause of death of 20-year-old Vangelis Giakoumakis, the missing Ioannina Dairy School student from Crete whose body was found on Sunday, was suicide.

The autopsy showed that Giakoumakis committed suicide on the day of his disappearance (January 6) and that he died of hemorrhagic shock caused by a trauma on the right wrist.

The unfortunate young Dairy School student’s body was found by a shepherd on early Sunday in a marshy area of Pamvotida Lake, Ioannina, northwestern Greek.

The body was 800 meters away from the Dairy School from where he went missing on February 6.
