One arrest in Crete drug bust

Police on Crete have shut down an illegal drug racket in the Rethymno area of Mylopotamos and arrested one suspect, while identifying another believed to be his accomplice.

According to an announcement, officers acting on information received by the Rethymno police's drug enforcement department raided the suspects' homes and a sheep farm they ran together in the early hours of Wednesday.

During the operation, they seized 14 marijuana plants that had grown up to 4 meters tall and 1.7 kilograms of cannabis, as well as two unlicensed pistols and two hunting rifles, among other finds.
