France-based Alstom has furthered its investments in Türkiye by acquiring Duray Ulaşım Sistemleri in the northwestern industrial province of Bursa.

The new Advanced Industrial Center, which has already commenced operations with over 200 employees, will produce mission critical rail transport components, the company said in a statement.

"This new Alstom factory in Bursa represents a major milestone, underscoring Alstom's commitment to advancing sustainable mobility and contributing to the development of Türkiye's railway infrastructure," it added.

In 2023, they initiated our long-term investment plan in the country by establishing the Alstom Türkiye Engineering and Technology Center, said Kerem Bugay, the managing director of Alstom Türkiye.

"With a legacy of delivering to major European rail projects, Bursa will be adaptable in the future and prepared to expand operations in alignment with the requirements and expectations of the government and our local partners," he added.

Alstom, which has a presence in 64 countries, commenced its operations in Türkiye in 1955.

Alstom Türkiye manages signaling, infrastructure expertise, project management, bid management, engineering, training and procurement activities for the Africa, Middle East and Central Asia region from Istanbul.

Listed in France, Alstom generated revenues of 17.6 billion euros for the fiscal year ending in March.
