Death of a 56-year-old woman in Amorgos: A case file against police officers for negligence

A case of neglect of duty has been filed against police officers of Amorgos in connection with the tragic death of a 56-year-old woman in a fall from a cliff.

As the Cyclades24 website reports, the prosecutor of the Naxos Prosecutor’s Office went directly to Amorgos today, Wednesday, August 28, at noon, in order to establish the circumstances under which the tragic accident took place, as she was informed about the incident by a citizen the previous day late at night and not by the police authorities.

At the moment she is conducting an autopsy with the assistance of 2 policemen of the Amorgos police, while a case file has already been formed against the policemen for breach of duty, as they did not inform the Prosecutor in order to take note of the incident and order specific investigative acts, in order not to lose valuable data.

Recall that the 56-year-old woman fell into the void in the area of Agios Pavlos, where she was with her daughter.

This is a spot that the residents of the area have pointed out as particularly dangerous and appropriate protection measures have not yet been taken.
