Kentucky: The moment a sheriff shot and killed a judge – He found his daughter’s number on his phone

Chilling footage from a Kentucky courtroom shows the moment Sheriff Sean Stines shot and killed Judge Kevin Mullins. The security camera video from the September 19 incident captures the 43-year-old Stines firing multiple shots at the 54-year-old Mullins, who attempted to hide behind his desk but was ultimately unsuccessful.

Testimony in court revealed that just before the killing, Stines had discovered his daughter’s phone number on Mullins’ cellphone. The sheriff had even called his daughter from the judge’s phone shortly before opening fire.

According to the Daily Mail, hours before the murder, the sheriff and the judge, who had been longtime friends, had lunch together not far from the courthouse where the fatal shooting occurred.

A police officer testified in court, saying, “I was informed that the two men argued during that lunch, with the judge eventually suggesting, ‘Perhaps we should go to my office?'”

The judge ruled that the crime involved premeditation, allowing the case to proceed to a jury trial.
