Bomb threat deemed false: No danger at KAT, Loukareos, and Metro Stations (update)

The immediate mobilization of the Hellenic Police (ELAS) was triggered by an email sent at 7:20 AM to the headquarters of the Greek police, stating that bombs with two kilograms of explosives would explode at KAT, Loukareos, Syntagma Metro, and along the red line of the Metro.

The email was written in English.

Following this, teams from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal Department conducted checks, but nothing suspicious was found.

Under instructions from the ELAS, trains on Line 2 of the Metro temporarily passed through the Syntagma station without stopping for a while. However, service on the entire Line 2 of the Metro has now been restored. By the directive of the ELAS, trains are once again stopping at Syntagma station.

A threatening email sent at 7:20 AM to the Greek Police Headquarters caused an immediate response from law enforcement. The email, written in English, claimed that bombs with two kilos of explosives were placed at KAT Hospital, Loukareos, Syntagma Metro, and on the Red Line of the Metro.

Bomb disposal teams were dispatched to the locations immediately.

Following police orders, due to the bomb threat at Syntagma Metro, trains on Line 2 are passing through the “Syntagma” station without stopping temporarily. However, the station remains open, and trains on Line 3 are making regular stops.
