Serbia has upper hand over Paraguay, 2-0

NOVI SAD - The Serbian female tennis team has the upper hand over Paraguay, 2-0, after the first day of qualification matches for World Group B in Novi Sad.

Aleksandra Krunic won the first point for Serbia as she drew a convincing victory over Veronica Cepede Royg, 6-1, 6-3.

The second point for Serbia was won by Ana Ivanovic who triumphed in the match against lower-ranked opponent Montserrat Gonzalez who currently holds the 225th place on the WTA list. The match score was 6-2, 6-0 for Ivanovic.

On Sunday as the second day of competition, Ivanovic will play against Royg and Krunic will cross rackets with Gonzalez, and the duels between the two teams will end by a doubles match between Jelena Jankovic and Ivana Jorovic against Gonzalez and Royg.
