Goran Bregovic shall mark four decades of Bijelo Dugme with first gig in Ljubljana.

The band that Goran Bregovic founded 40 years ago has earned him a place among the legendary musicians of ex Yugoslavia. The celebration tour shall begin in Ljubljana on June 14. The greatest hits of the Bijelo Dugme shall be sung by the band’s former singer Alen Islamovic.

- The first gig shall be held in Ljubljana because it was there where I got the idea to name the band Bijelo Dugme (White Button). Perhaps I shall invite another member of the band for every gig – Bregovic says for the Blic.

Bregovic plans to play more than twenty songs of the Bijelo Dugme in new arrangements.

- The program shall also include the repertoire that I am playing with my ‘Orchestra for Weddings and Funerals – he adds.

Islamovic says to have accepted Bregovic’s invitation with pleasure.
- This is going to be a real spectacle. I am ready and I think I am singing now better than ever. This is a huge challenge for me – Alen Islamovic said.
