Finding a balance
The crisis is supposed to have made us mature us as a society and turned us into responsible citizens who have learned from the mistakes of the past.
We know that we assigned the job of governance to many people who turned out to be inept or corrupt in some cases both.
But tomorrow and next Sunday we have the opportunity to determine political developments and choose the right people for critical posts. The sirens of populism have found fertile ground in the rage of the people and are trying to lead them to the extremes.
Meanwhile, many citizens no longer care who they vote for or what that person represents, opting instead to use their vote to apparently send a message to those who are responsible for the countrys predicament.
The biggest risk, therefore, is that our anger may compel us to destroy everything that we have achieved so far with much effort and pain, sweeping away anyone that may be good and capable of running the country the day after.
