The bodies of three men killed with gunshots to their head or chest were found in Turkey's southeastern provinces of Diyarbak?r and Hakkari on Jan. 6, amid ongoing clashes and curfews in the conflict-ridden region.

Passersby had noticed the bodies of two men in the middle of an icy road leading to the village of Be?p?nar in Diyarbak?r's Ç?nar district.

Gendarmerie officials arrived at the scene and determined that one of the men was killed by a gunshot to his head, while the other was killed by a shot to the chest.

The victims have been identified as 50-year-old Galip Gezici and 35-year-old Engin ?ahinli.

An investigation has been launched into the killings.

Meanwhile, the body of a 25-year-old man, identified as Tekin Yard?mc?, has been found at the Eski Cezaevi junction in the southeastern province of Hakkari.

Crime scene investigators determined that Yard?mc? was killed by a shot in his head. His body was taken to the morgue at the Yüksekova State Hospital.

A number of districts in Diyarbak?r and Hakkari have been under military curfew for over a month as clashes continue between security authorities and militants of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).

However, clashes were not reported in the districts where the bodies were recovered.
