Two killed in armed attack at Istanbul tea house

Two people were killed and five were wounded in an armed attack at a tea house in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district late on Feb. 1. 

Police detained six suspects during an operation following the incident.  

Seven people wounded when two masked men attacked a tea house in the Kanarya neighborhood of Küçükçekmekce with a long-barreled weapon and a handgun. 

The suspects later escaped on foot as the police launched an operation. Two people identified as R.D., 51, and S.C., 37, succumbed to their wounds in hospital, while five others were also hospitalized.  

Istanbul anti-terror branch police teams carried out simultaneous raids on various addresses on Feb. 2 in an air-supported operation in the neighborhood following the attack. Six suspects believed to be linked to the attack were detained in house raids.
