Prison investigating attack on suspect in Rhodes rape, murder case
Authorities at Avlona Prison, north of Athens, have ordered an investigation after a group of inmates attacked a 19-year-old man accused in the rape and murder of a 21-year-old female student on the southeastern Aegean island of Rhodes.
Suspects in student killing appear before Rhodes prosecutor
Two men who were detained by police as prime suspects in the killing of a university student on the island of Rhodes were led before the local prosecutor on Tuesday.
The body of the 21-year-old woman, who was studying at the Aegean University, was found by the coast guard in the sea area off the coast of Lindos.
Interest grows in İzmir's oldest settlement
Visitors have been flocking to İzmir's Yeşilova Mound, a site that proves that settlements in the city date back 8,500 years.
The head of the Yeşilova Mound excavations, academic Zafer Derin, told the Doğan News Agency that the mound had been visited by 36,000 people in two years.
