Albanian court rejects Beleri’s appeal
An Albanian court has rejected the appeal by Fredi Beleri, the mayor-elect of Himare in southern Albania and an ethnic Greek, who was seeking release under restrictive measures.
On Friday, the judges ruled to uphold the pretrial detention measure.

Agron Limani has been invited to give an interview to the Kosovo Specialist Prosecution in The Hague, which is investigating alleged violations by Kosovo Liberation Army, KLA fighters during and just after the 1998-99 war, he confirmed on Tuesday.
Limani told BIRN that he has been invited for interview as a witness, without giving more details.
Albanian ex-dictator’s grandson jailed for smuggling cocaine
An Albanian court has sentenced the grandson of former communist dictator Enver Hoxha to ten years in jail for smuggling cocaine, a statement said on Wednesday.
Ermal Hoxha is part of a nine-member group, which includes two Columbians, whose were served prison terms from 10 to 13 years on Tuesday, a Tirana court said.
Albanian Ex-Minister Faces Trial for Embezzlement
An Albanian court on Sunday remanded Ksera in custody after he was charged with misusing his authority to embezzling around 216,000 euro from a fund intended for social programmes, along with his subordinates.
Ksera was a member of the centre-right administration headed by former Prime Minister Sali Berisha until 2013.

UK Detains Italian Businessman Sought in Albania
The Italian businessman Francesco Becchetti, who has invested in media and energy sectors in Albania, has been detained in London and told to go to Albania, where courts seek his arrest for money laundering and tax evasion.
The Albanian courts have issued an international arrest warrant in accordance with extradition treaties that the country has signed with international partners.

Albanian MP’s Criminal Past Revealed
According to the documents published by the Democratic Party, Ndoka was convicted in the Italian capital Rome and sentenced to seven years in prison, then sent back to Albania in May 2002 to serve his sentence closer to home.
