Seven Bulgarian Students Received a Harvard Award

Seven Bulgarian  students in 10th and 11th grade from six cities in the country win the prestigious Harvard University Prize Book Award 2018. Prize winners are nominated annually from 2000 schools around the world, and at the national level, the award is given by local Harvard graduate clubs. The Harvard Prize Book Award is being presented by Harvard Club Bulgaria.

Nobody has a right to call anybody 'ignorant'

It was in the Aegean city of ?zmir where I attended middle school and high school, at ?zmir American College. I never had a disabled classmate or a Kurdish one, not even a poor one. When I graduated I was able to explain the American civil war and the discrimination against blacks in the U.S., but my knowledge about Turkish society was almost zero.

Education angst! Private school VAT hikes and cuts to state school programs

The planned 23% VAT hike to private educational institutions will reportedly be extended to include private schools sending rates exploding. A reportage in daily newspaper, Ethnos, states that parents who send their children to private schools will need to dig their hands deep into their pockets paying an additional 1,500 to 2,000 euros in tuition fees per annum.
