Istanbul Photo Awards exhibition kicks off in Ankara

An annual international photography exhibition, the Istanbul Photo Awards 2021, kicked off in Turkey's capital Ankara on Oct. 11.

A 2,000-year-old altar has been unearthed in northwestern Turkey near the town of Ezine in Çanakkale province, archeologists said on Oct. 9.

A hall with a podium, temple, odium, and bathhouse were among the remains that have survived to the present day in the ancient city of Alexandria Troas, an area near the Aegean Sea.

8,000-year-old village life to be exhibited

The findings unearthed in the Aşağıpınar archeological excavations in the northwestern province of Kırklareli will be passed down to future generations in an open-air time tunnel on the site.

Started in 1993, the studies on the site revealed the traces of the region's oldest farming communities which brought agriculture and village settlement from Anatolia to Thrace.

Ancient city of Duluk to shed light on history of religions

One of the 25 oldest settlements across the world, the ancient city of Duluk in Turkey's southeastern Gaziantep province is expected to shed light on the history of religions.

This year's part of the excavations carried out in the ancient city in cooperation with the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry and Germany's Munster University, has been completed.
