Tour of McCabe's ‘ Chronography’ | Athens | July 24
Kathimerini arts editor Margarita Pournara will be conducting a guided tour, in English, of Robert McCabe's exhibition "Chronography" at the Archaeological Society at Athens, on Wednesday, July 24, at 11.30 a.m. In this show, the American photographer presents dozens of photographs of archaeological sites taken during his wanderings around Greece in the 1950s and 60s.

Due to popular demand, the Archaeological Society at Athens has extended the duration of "Chronography," an exhibition of photographs taken by Robert McCabe in regions of archaeological significance during his first trips to the country between the mid-1950s and early 1960s.

New discoveries made at Zominthos palace site
The Minoan palace of Zominthos was a complex with three-story buildings grounded in the rock at 1,200 meters above sea level. As early as 2000 BC, worshippers started placing offerings in clefts in the rock, such as "egg cups" - simple cup-shaped vases with a disc-like base - both painted and plain.

Graffiti cleaned up from facade of Archaeological Society in Athens
Municipal workers on Thursday removed graffiti from the facade of the building hosting the Archaeological Society in central Athens.
The neoclassical structure, which is located at the junction of Panepistimiou and Omirou streets, has been vandalized several times.
